They must be unselfish and energetic in their efforts to win souls for Christ. Whether called upon to celebrate Baptisms or funerals, or rites and ceremonies in between, they should prepare thoroughly and conduct the services to the best of their ability, always directing attention to the Trinity, and not to themselves.

All of a sudden I became everybody’s sis. Kids took turns in pulling me to their side. They huddled close to me and they didn’t even touch my hair! They would lean to me and ask me questions such as what grade I was in (kids don’t know much about high school and especially college).

Some of you are probably thinking that you are parents and that isn’t that enough of a contribution to make to the next generation? Being a parent is one of the most obvious and perhaps best ways to invest in children, but it is not the only way. All adults, parents or not, have the ability and the responsibility to make life better for educational psychology. I believe we have this incredible job to do, that we have the task of spending our lives on things that make life better for others.
However, many children begin their school years with missing components–social, physical, emotional or cognitive experiences that have somehow been overlooked by caring and concerned parents. And these missing components can mean the difference between success and struggle at school.
And today all these years later I find that my grandchildren are subjected to the same notions. The only difference is that now there is a lot more evidence that much of the traditional advice is just plain wrong. Let’s do something about it.
